Convert WorkWith to WorkWithPlus

WorkWithPlus provides the ability to convert WorkWith instances from other patterns into WorkWithPlus instances automatically.

You can convert from the following Patterns:

  • GeneXus WorkWith for Web
  • K2bTools
  • Ignia
  • PX Tools

This menu will automatically be visible when the KB has any of the WorkWith instances of the Patterns mentioned before.

This menu item contains the following options:

Convert selected instances

It will convert only the WorkWith instances in your KB that you select to convert.

When you select this option, it will display the window to select which instances to convert:

"Select Objects" dialog listing Work With for Web pattern objects (WorkWithCompany, WorkWithCountry, WorkWithPerson, WorkWithProject) with columns Type, Module, Description, Modified Date, and Import Date, filters for Pattern/Type/Category/Module/Folder/Modified at top, two rows checked ("2 selected object(s)" of "4 matching object(s)"), and Select All, New..., OK, and Cancel buttons.

Select them and press OK.

Note: We recommend that you have the  Output (General) visible in order to check whether the process was executed correctly or not.

GeneXus IDE Output pane log during a WorkWith to WorkWithPlus conversion, listing successful saves of the WorkWithPlusPerson pattern's generated objects (Web Panels, Web Components, Procedures, Data Selector, Transaction 'Person'), ending with "Pattern generation (WorkWithPlusPerson) Success", "Finished converting WorkWithPlusPerson", and "Convert: WorkWith -> WorkWithPlus Success".

Convert all instances

It will convert all the WorkWith instances in your KB.

When you select this option, it will display the following window:

"Convert: WorkWith -> WorkWithPlus" confirmation dialog warning that all WorkWith Pattern instances will be converted to WorkWithPlus Pattern instances and then removed, asking "Are you sure you want to continue?" with Si and No buttons.

You have to press to continue, and then WorkWithPlus automatically migrates the WorkWith instances into WorkWithPlus.

Note: We recommend that you have the  Output (General) visible in order to check whether the process was executed correctly or not.

Each Pattern has its steps to follow before running these processes, which are detailed below:
